During the ride I used FourSquare to track my location.
Before leaving, I was was worried about whether this was going to work or not, in the sense that I wasn’t previously a FourSquare user (and therefore didn’t have much experience of it) and was at the mercy of O2 network coverage. In the main however, it seemed to work pretty well. There were some periods where there was little or no network coverage which was a bit frustrating at times (England was worse than Scotland – or so it seemed) but overall it wasn’t too bad. There is, I think, only one point that is significantly out of place – I remember the FourSquare app on the iPhone telling me that I was 4km from where I was standing at the time.
